Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support Mossel Bay's manufacturing plant, performing preventive maintenance and rapid repairs to minimize downtime.

You will diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical faults, read blueprints and manuals, and maintain accurate records while upholding safety standards.

This hands-on role offers overtime opportunities and paid training in a scenic coastal town.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial plant environment.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair diverse types of industrial machinery.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment according to established guidelines.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on production machinery.
• Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment history.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and technical diagrams to perform maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
