Job summary

Placements24 in Gauteng is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support a manufacturing plant in Tembisa. You will ensure reliability and efficiency of machinery through proactive maintenance and rapid repair, diagnosing issues and intervening to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on mechanical and electrical experience, reads blueprints, and adheres to safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including gearboxes, conveyors and pumps.
• Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting of AC/DC circuits and control systems.
• Welding, brazing and pipefitting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production machinery, including lubrication, calibration, and inspections.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system failures.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical control systems, motors, and VFDs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for repair and installation procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety regulations and procedures.
• Document maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent in the CMMS.
