Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our Port Elizabeth plant. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, and minimize downtime on critical equipment.
The role requires reading blueprints/schematics, using diagnostic tools, and maintaining records while adhering to safety standards in a manufacturing setting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in industrial/manufacturing settings.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with troubleshooting ability.
- Familiarity with reading blueprints, schematics and manuals.
- Knowledge of safety procedures such as lockout/tagout.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on plant machinery according to specs.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Read blueprints and manuals to troubleshoot equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to minimise downtime.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and labour hours.
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures.
