Job summary

Exceed Human Resource Consultants seeks a hands-on Maintenance Technician to maintain, inspect, repair and improve plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner. You will perform mechanical and electrical repairs, troubleshoot faults and support production with prompt maintenance responses.

The role requires 2–4 years in a similar maintenance position, with an N4 qualification. A Trade Certificate is advantageous, and strong planning, problem-solving and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, repair and improve plant equipment.
• Ensure safe, reliable and efficient production.
• Reduce equipment downtime through fault-finding and preventative maintenance.
• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on industrial machinery.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and identify potential failures.
• Carry out equipment servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and replace components such as motors, sensors, relays and contactors.
• Maintain mechanical components including bearings, shafts, pulleys, chains and drive systems.
• Assist with PLC, MCC, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance.
• Record inspections, breakdowns, repairs and spare parts usage accurately.
• Support production by responding to maintenance issues promptly.
• Follow all safety, isolation, PPE and housekeeping requirements.
