Dixie Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician / Supervisor for a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will oversee maintenance, breakdowns, fabrication and site facilities, ensuring ISO9001 & IATF16949 compliance and safety standards across mechanical, CNC-controlled, and automated systems.

Proven leadership, fault diagnosis, and strong practical electrical experience are essential for coordinating preventive and predictive maintenance in a high-demand setting.

Qualifications

• Trade test completed (Fitter & Turner or Millwright).
• 10+ years in manufacturing maintenance.
• Experience with CNC-controlled/automated equipment and associated electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Experience with PLCs and automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
• Responsible for maintenance, breakdowns, fabrication and site facilities.
• Plan maintenance and document per ISO9001 & IATF16949.
• Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical faults efficiently.
• Manage maintenance schedules and safety compliance.
• Hold GMR 2.1 responsibilities for safe operation of machinery.

Job description

A well-established manufacturing organization seeking to strengthen its maintenance team is looking for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician / Supervisor. It is a fast-paced manufacturing environment comprising mechanical, CNC-controlled and automated manufacturing equipment, with associated electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Duties:

• Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime

• Responsible for the whole factory; maintenance, breakdowns, fabrication and general site facilities

• Maintenance planning and documentation in accordance with ISO9001 & IATF16949.

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical faults efficiently

• Manage maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with safety standards

• Appointed as GMR 2.1, with the associated legal responsibility for the safe operation and maintenance of the relevant machinery and equipment.

Requirements:

• Qualified Fitter & Turner or Millwright with a completed trade test

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in manufacturing maintenance

• Strong leadership and team management skills

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical system

• Strong practical electrical experience required, even if not formally electrically qualified

• Experience of CNC-controlled and automated manufacturing equipment, with associated electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
