Job summary

Exceed HR and Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Vereeniging to oversee plant equipment maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure safe and efficient production.

The role involves fault-finding on electrical and mechanical systems, preventative maintenance planning, keeping records, and supporting production under pressure. Candidates should have 2–4 years in a similar role and relevant trade qualifications.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Must have hands-on mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and maintenance reporting.
• Strong planning, time management and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Computer literacy required.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, repair and improve plant equipment.
• Ensure safe, reliable and efficient production.
• Reduce equipment downtime through fault-finding and preventative maintenance.
• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on industrial machinery.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and identify potential failures.
• Carry out equipment servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and replace components such as motors, sensors, relays and contactors.
• Maintain mechanical components including bearings, shafts, pulleys, chains and drive systems.
• Assist with PLC, MCC, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance.
• Record inspections, breakdowns, repairs and spare parts usage accurately.
• Support production by responding to maintenance issues promptly.
• Follow all safety, isolation, PPE and housekeeping requirements.
