Placements24 seeks an experienced Industrial Engineer to lead supply chain and logistics optimization for a large George-based network. The role focuses on data-driven analysis, process improvement, and hands-on implementation to reduce costs and boost efficiency across operations.

You will analyze processes, design warehouse layouts, simulate changes, and collaborate with carriers and internal teams to deliver measurable performance gains in the Western Cape region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial engineering experience with focus on supply chain and logistics.
• Experience optimizing warehouse operations, transportation networks, and inventory management.
• Proficiency with logistics software and data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Python).
• Strong Lean principles understanding and application in supply chain environments.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder management.

Responsabilités

• Analyze the entire supply chain network to identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop and implement optimized logistics strategies to reduce lead times and costs.
• Design efficient warehouse layouts and material handling systems.
• Use simulation and modeling tools to evaluate proposed changes.
• Develop and track KPIs for supply chain and logistics operations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth flow of goods.
• Implement and manage inventory control systems to optimize stock levels.
• Identify opportunities for technology adoption (WMS, TMS, automation).
• Conduct feasibility studies for new distribution centers or expansions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards.
