Placements24 seeks an Industrial Engineer for our Mossel Bay facility in the Western Cape to design and implement advanced manufacturing systems that boost efficiency and quality across production lines. The role blends on-site collaboration with focused remote work for analysis and design.

Responsibilities include analyzing processes, creating new layouts, simulating designs, and documenting SOPs while applying lean principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
• Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial engineering focusing on manufacturing systems
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and simulation tools
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Experience with project management and documentation
• Hybrid role requiring regular on-site presence at Mossel Bay facility
• Familiarity with quality control systems

Responsabilités

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement areas in Mossel Bay
• Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing layouts, workflows, and systems
• Utilize CAD software and simulation tools to model and test proposed designs
• Develop and document SOPs for new manufacturing processes
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and management for integration of new systems
• Conduct time and motion studies to establish production standards
• Apply lean principles: 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping
• Support procurement and installation of new equipment and technologies
• Track and report KPIs related to manufacturing efficiency and system performance
• Participate in cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions
