Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production processes to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.

About the Role

A prominent wine and beverage producer in the renowned Stellenbosch, Western Cape region is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to focus on production systems optimization. This role is integral to enhancing the efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of our diverse production lines, from bottling to packaging. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical aptitude and a deep understanding of industrial engineering principles, particularly within a high-volume manufacturing context. You will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement initiatives, implementing best practices, and ensuring our production operations remain at the forefront of the industry. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing production processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement data-driven strategies for process optimization, focusing on yield, cycle time, and resource utilization.
• Design and implement solutions using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and improve quality.
• Collaborate with production managers, quality assurance teams, and operators to ensure seamless implementation of changes.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
• Conduct time and motion studies to optimize workforce productivity and scheduling.
• Evaluate and recommend upgrades for production equipment and automation systems.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, cost, and quality, and report on trends.
• Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure all implemented processes adhere to stringent food safety and quality standards relevant to the industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering, specifically within production or manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Proficiency in process mapping, simulation software, and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab).
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with all levels of the organization.
• Familiarity with HACCP or other food safety standards is highly desirable.
• Experience with process automation and control systems is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment within the beautiful Stellenbosch region.
