Qualifications

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.

About the Role

Our client, a leading beverage production company situated in the vibrant region of Stellenbosch, Western Cape , is actively seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to champion their Operations Excellence program. This role is integral to driving continuous improvement across all facets of production and supply chain. You will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, improving quality, and optimizing resource utilization. Leveraging advanced analytical tools and methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma, you will identify opportunities, develop robust solutions, and manage their implementation. This hybrid position allows for strategic planning and analysis to be conducted remotely, complemented by essential on-site collaboration and project execution in Stellenbosch, Western Cape .

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and execution of operations excellence strategies across manufacturing and logistics. Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive significant improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality. Conduct in-depth process analysis, value stream mapping, and bottleneck identification. Develop and implement business cases for capital investments in process improvements and automation. Manage cross-functional project teams to deliver improvement initiatives on time and within budget. Train and mentor junior engineers and operational staff in the principles of continuous improvement. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and demonstrate the impact of implemented changes. Facilitate workshops and Kaizen events to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong emphasis on operations excellence, Lean, and Six Sigma. Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification in Six Sigma is highly preferred. Proven experience in managing complex, cross-functional improvement projects. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. Strong leadership, communication, and influencing abilities. Proficiency with data analysis and simulation software. Experience in the food and beverage industry is a significant advantage. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid capacity, contributing remotely and on-site in Stellenbosch, Western Cape .
