Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Systems Engineer for its Stellenbosch operations in the Western Cape. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing complex industrial systems to improve efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness across manufacturing and bottling processes.

You will work with production, quality assurance, and IT to integrate new technologies, analyze performance, and drive process automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in industrial systems engineering or process automation.
• Experience in manufacturing environment with system design, integration and implementation.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Analyze performance of existing industrial systems, including production lines and IT infrastructure.
• Design and develop new industrial systems and process improvements.
• Implement and integrate automation technologies, sensors and control systems.
• Use simulation software to model and test designs before implementation.
• Maintain system documentation (specifications, P&IDs, SOPs).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for upgrades.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial systems engineering, process automation, or a related role.
• Proven experience with systems design, integration, and implementation in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of control systems, PLCs, SCADA, and industrial networking.
• Proficiency in simulation and modeling software (e.g., Arena, Simulink).
• Experience with data analysis tools and techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
• Must have legal authorization to work in South Africa.
• Experience in the food and beverage or FMCG sector is advantageous.
