Job summary

Placements24 client in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, seeks an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to oversee on-site electrical systems in a heavy industrial setting. You will perform proactive and reactive maintenance on HV/MV equipment, drive reliability improvements, and ensure safety compliance across all electrical infrastructure.

You must hold a National Diploma or Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with at least 4 years of industrial maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4+ years of electrical maintenance experience in heavy industry.
• Experience with HV and MV equipment and distribution systems.
• Knowledge of motor control, VFDs, PLCs and instrumentation.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical docs.
• Familiarity with safety regulations (LOTO, Arc Flash).

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on plant electrical equipment.
• Diagnose electrical faults to minimize downtime.
• Develop maintenance strategies to improve reliability and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety and company policies.
• Manage spare parts inventory for electrical components.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and manuals.
• Assist in commissioning and installation of new equipment.
• Maintain maintenance records and report on performance.
• Supervise technicians and contractors as needed.
