Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join the Richards Bay operations. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvements to ensure continuous and safe operation of electrical systems in an industrial facility.

Requirements include a Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or related trade qualification, 5+ years in heavy industry maintenance, and strong knowledge of IEC control systems, VSDs, PLCs, and safety

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant trade qualification (e.g., Electrician Trade Test).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably in a heavy industry environment.
• Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, VSDs, PLCs, and electrical safety procedures (e.g., LOTO).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Experience with high voltage and low voltage systems.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems and implementing effective repairs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all industrial electrical equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults and failures in machinery, control systems, and power distribution networks.
• Maintain electrical systems, including motors, generators, switchgear, transformers, and lighting.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Manage spare parts inventory for electrical components and equipment.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and provide effective repair solutions.
• Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and recommendations in the maintenance management system.
