About the Role

Our client seeks a dedicated Electrical Maintenance Engineer to oversee the electrical systems within their industrial facilities in Richards Bay . This critical role ensures the optimal functioning, safety, and longevity of all electrical equipment and infrastructure, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing upgrades to keep operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate is hands-on, possesses strong diagnostic skills, and thrives in an industrial setting, contributing to a culture of operational excellence and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment, including motors, generators, switchgear, and control systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults and equipment failures promptly and efficiently.
• Oversee the installation, modification, and maintenance of electrical systems and machinery.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies related to electrical work.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimize electrical-related disruptions and optimize equipment performance.
• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring electrical issues and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical diploma.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical maintenance , preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience with industrial electrical systems , including PLC controls, variable speed drives, and high-voltage equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with a methodical approach.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, hazardous area classifications).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
