Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Electrical Engineer for our Rustenburg facility. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize the electrical infrastructure of a large-scale operation to ensure continuous production and high efficiency.

The role requires a BEng or Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years in industrial electrical engineering, strong PLC/motor control knowledge, VSDs, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• BEng or Diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Strong knowledge of PLC systems, motor control, VSDs and industrial networks.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and manuals.
• Commitment to safety and OHS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial electrical equipment (motors, generators, transformers, control panels).
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical faults to minimize downtime.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Design and modify electrical systems to improve efficiency and safety in Rustenburg.
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with suppliers.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Industrial Electrical Engineer to join their operational team in Rustenburg . This position focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing the electrical infrastructure of a large-scale industrial facility. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of production machinery and electrical systems, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of industrial electrical maintenance, safety protocols, and problem-solving skills to the North West province.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial electrical equipment, including motors, generators, transformers, and control panels.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize equipment failure and operational disruptions.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical faults and technical issues in a timely manner, ensuring operational continuity.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with stringent health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Participate in the design and modification of electrical systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety of plant operations in Rustenburg .
• Manage spare parts inventory for critical electrical components and coordinate with suppliers for procurement.

Requirements

• BEng or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 4 years of experience in an industrial electrical engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of PLC systems , motor control, variable speed drives, and industrial networks.
• Experience with high and low voltage electrical systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals.
