Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Electrical Engineer to join the Richards Bay operations. The role focuses on maintaining, improving, and troubleshooting electrical infrastructure within a demanding industrial facility.

You will manage maintenance programs and contribute to upgrades for efficiency and reliability. The position blends hands-on work and strategic planning, requiring problem-solving in a safety-focused, high-demand setting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
Minimum of 4 years of industrial electrical engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of power distribution, motor control, PLCs, and instrumentation.
Experience with VFDs and industrial automation systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Solid understanding of safety procedures and regulatory compliance in industry.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the installation, maintenance, and repair of all industrial electrical equipment and systems.
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for electrical assets.
Troubleshoot complex electrical faults and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Ensure all electrical installations and maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to identify areas for electrical system improvement.
Participate in the design and commissioning of new electrical systems and plant upgrades.
