Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Engineer to enhance electrical infrastructure for production facilities in Welkom. You will design, install, and troubleshoot electrical equipment, focusing on reliability, safety, and performance in a challenging industrial setting.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical Engineering, at least 6 years' industrial experience, and strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, HMI, and high voltage systems. Hybrid work flexibility is offered.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
Minimum 6 years' experience in an industrial electrical engineering capacity.
Strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, HMI and industrial control systems.
Experience with high voltage systems and industrial power distribution.
Familiarity with South African electrical safety standards and regulations.
Proven ability to manage projects and work effectively within a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain electrical systems for industrial plants (power, motor controls, automation).
Root cause analysis of electrical failures and corrective actions.
Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Ensure electrical installations comply with safety regulations and standards.
Collaborate with operations to troubleshoot and optimize production processes.
Manage electrical projects, budgeting, scheduling, and contractor oversight; hybrid work flexibility.
