Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Specialist Cleaning & Sanitation Coordinator for our automotive manufacturing client in East London, Eastern Cape. You will oversee daily cleaning operations, supervise staff, and implement sanitation protocols to uphold high hygiene standards in a large industrial facility.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a cleaning or sanitation supervision role, preferably in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Solid understanding of cleaning chemicals, equipment and best practices for industrial hygiene.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to manufacturing facilities.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to conduct inspections and identify areas requiring improvement.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage daily cleaning and sanitation schedules for the plant.
• Supervise and train a team of cleaning staff, ensuring procedures and safety guidelines are followed.
• Oversee storage and use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
• Conduct regular plant inspections to meet hygiene standards.
• Maintain records of cleaning activities, chemical usage, inventory and staff performance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance to minimize disruption.
