Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with expertise in industrial automation to join their Kimberley team. You will design, implement, and maintain automated control systems that enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality, collaborating with production teams to identify opportunities for improvement.
The ideal candidate brings proficiency in PLC programming and HMI/SCADA design, with a solid foundation in motor control and drives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3–6 years in industrial automation and electrical control systems.
- Proficient in PLC programming and HMI/SCADA development.
- Strong knowledge of motor control, VFDs, and industrial networks.
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and associated HMI/SCADA systems.
- Develop electrical control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Specify and integrate automation components, including sensors, drives, and robots.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and automation issues in a production environment.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and operations on equipment integration and process improvements.
- Ensure all designs and installations comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
