The role requires a Bachelor's in Industrial/Electrical/Mechanical with automation, 6+ years in industrial engineering including 3 years in automation, and strong PLC/HMI/robotics knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering with a focus on automation.
• 6+ years in industrial engineering, with 3+ years in automation design/implementation.
• Strong robotics, PLC programming, HMI, and control systems knowledge; hybrid Stellenbosch environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess processes to identify automation opportunities.
• Design and oversee implementation of automated systems including robotics, PLCs, HMIs.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation (P&IDs, control logic, manuals).
• Collaborate with vendors, system integrators, and internal teams.
• Conduct performance testing, commissioning, validation of new systems.
• Provide training and technical support to operational staff.
