Job summary

Placements24 in Klerksdorp is seeking a specialized Industrial Engineer with a focus on automation to join our team. You will evaluate, design, and implement automated solutions to improve production efficiency and safety.

You will work on robotics, PLCs, SCADA and smart manufacturing initiatives, collaborating with mechanical and electrical engineers in a hybrid work model that balances on-site collaboration with remote work.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
Experience in designing and implementing automation solutions in an industrial setting.
Familiarity with robotics, PLCs, SCADA systems and other automation technologies.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems.
Experience with project management and system integration.
Good communication and teamwork skills, adaptable to a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

Assess current manufacturing processes for opportunities to implement automation technologies.
Research, select, and integrate robotic systems, automated equipment, and control systems.
Develop detailed specifications and project plans for automation initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and electrical engineers, to ensure successful automation deployment.
Troubleshoot and optimize automated systems to ensure peak performance and reliability.
Train operators and maintenance personnel on new automated equipment and processes.
