Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Analyst specialized in Incident Response to join their Upington team. You will detect and analyze security threats, investigate alerts, and coordinate remediation efforts to safeguard critical systems and data in a collaborative environment.

The role requires 2–4 years in information security, hands-on experience with SIEM/EDR/IDS and strong analytical and communication skills. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in information security, with focus on incident response or security operations.
• Strong understanding of incident response methodologies and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and systems for potential security incidents.
• Conduct thorough investigations into suspected security breaches and cyber threats.
• Perform analysis of malware, logs, and other forensic data.
• Coordinate and execute incident response plans to contain and eradicate threats.
• Document incident details, actions taken, and lessons learned.
• Collaborate with IT teams and management to implement preventative measures and improve security posture.
