Placements24 is seeking an Incident Response Specialist to join our security team in Upington. You will lead the end-to-end response to security breaches, perform forensic investigations, and drive containment and recovery actions to protect systems and data.

The role requires 2–4 years in incident response or digital forensics, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and strong analytical and communication skills to work with IT, legal, and communications teams during critical events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in cybersecurity or related field.
• 2–4 years of incident response, digital forensics, or related cybersecurity experience.
• Strong problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the end-to-end incident response process for security breaches and cyber-attacks.
• Conduct thorough investigations into security incidents, including forensic analysis of compromised systems.
• Develop and execute containment, eradication, and recovery strategies for security incidents.
• Monitor security systems and alerts for potential threats and anomalies.
• Document all incident response activities, findings, and recommendations for post-incident reviews.
• Collaborate with IT, legal, and communications teams during critical security events.
