Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Analyst in Polokwane to monitor security systems, analyze alerts, and investigate incidents. You will develop detection rules and stay updated with the latest threat intelligence to strengthen defenses.

The role requires 2–4 years in information security, a solid understanding of SIEM tools, networks, and attack vectors, plus relevant certifications. A collaborative team environment and ongoing training are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/InfoSec
• 2–4 years of info security experience focusing on threat detection, incident response or SOC
• Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, ELK) and other monitoring tools
• Understanding of network protocols, OS and common attack vectors
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• CompTIA Security+ or GIAC certificates are a plus

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools to detect threats
• Analyze security logs to identify patterns, IoCs and anomalies
• Investigate incidents, determine scope and impact, assist in response
• Develop and refine detection rules and signatures
• Stay current with threat intelligence, malware trends and attack methods
• Collaborate with security team members to enhance security posture
