Job summary

Herotel is seeking a Sales and Service Consultant in Zwelitsha to drive fibre and mobile product sales in-store and resolve customer queries at first contact. You will greet customers, process sign-ups, and manage CRM entries while maintaining store standards.

You’ll be expected to meet sales targets, handle complaints calmly, and assist with billing questions and self-help resources. This role requires shift work, strong communication, and attention to detail in a retail telecom environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
• 1–2 years' experience in customer-facing retail, telecoms, call centre or sales.
• Ability to meet sales targets.
• Sales, marketing or customer service qualification is advantageous.
• Strong sales acumen and computer literacy across CRM and POS systems.
• Willingness to work shift-based roster, including weekends/public holidays.
• Remain calm and professional handling customer complaints.
• Attention to detail and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage customers quickly and recommend fibre or mobile packages, routers or add-ons based on needs.
• Complete new sign-ups, upgrades, SIM swaps and porting, including FICA/KYC capture and CRM entry.
• Cross-sell where appropriate and follow up on quotes or interest.
• Log queries in CRM, perform first-line troubleshooting, escalate only if needed.
• Guide customers to self-help on HeroZone for billing queries and account amendments.
• Resolve complaints at first contact where possible.
• Lead retention conversations to save customers considering cancellation.
• Open/close store, carry keyholder duties, reconcile payment device with daily sales.
• Track stock of SIMs, routers, devices and accessories; maintain visual merchandising standards.
• Manage queues during busy periods and handover to next shift smoothly.
• Maintain FICA (POPIA) compliance on contracts and customer data; ensure data accuracy for reporting.
