Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Randburg, Gauteng office. You will design and develop mechanical systems for solar, wind, and other renewable energy technologies, delivering detailed CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.

The role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, experience with SolidWorks/AutoCAD, and proficiency in FEA/CFD simulations. Collaboration with electrical and controls teams is essential to integrate complete energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with renewable energy experience preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (FEA, CFD).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems and components for renewable energy applications.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
• Perform structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses to ensure design integrity.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, and project engineers to integrate designs into energy systems.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation including specifications, BOMs, and test procedures.
• Oversee prototype development and testing and implement design improvements.
