Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the design and development of renewable energy systems in Stellenbosch. You will work on mechanical aspects of solar, wind, and energy storage projects, blending design, analysis, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to ensure robust, high‑performance products.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, at least four years’ experience in mechanical design and analysis, and proficiency with 3D CAD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design and analysis.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software and FEA tools.
• Experience with renewable energy systems is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for renewable energy applications.
• Perform design calculations including stress, thermal, and fatigue analyses using CAD/FEA tools.
• Create detailed drawings, schematics and BOMs.
• Collaborate with electrical and software teams to ensure integrated designs.
• Prototype testing and validation to ensure performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and drive product improvements.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
