Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in a technical accounting role.
• Experience in a Financial Services environment is advantageous.
• Education in Financial Sciences with CA(SA) designation or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Determine accounting policies for Absa businesses.
• Provide practical assistance in implementing accounting or regulatory policies.
• Assess the impact of new accounting developments on the business unit.
• Prepare technical accounting opinions for new transactions and regulatory treatment.
• Engage with stakeholders to provide accounting treatment for new transactions.
• Develop IFRS accounting/regulatory policy perspectives for new products.
• Draft accounting notes for sign-off and transaction approvals.
