Absa is seeking an experienced IFRS accounting professional to guide accounting policy changes across the business units. Stay current with IASB and SAICA guidance and translate it into practical disclosures and regulatory treatments.

You will engage with stakeholders to assess new products, draft technical accounting notes, and support the GFR in year-end reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and Absa's accounting policies.

Qualifications

• Stay up to date with IASB guidance and SAICA developments and communicate to business units.
• Inform GFR note owners of accounting changes affecting notes disclosures.
• Identify potential accounting issues within business units and drive resolution.
• Perform detailed assessments on technical accounting matters to limit time auditors spend on IFRS reviews.

Responsabilités

• Stay up to date with IASB/SAICA developments and communicate these to Business Units.
• Inform GFR note owners of accounting changes that might affect disclosures.
• Identify accounting issues within business units and drive resolution with the business.
• Conduct thorough assessments on technical accounting matters to aid audit processes.
