Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education with Special Needs Education or Learning Disabilities.
• Postgraduate qualification in Special Needs Education is highly advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching students with specific learning disabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of common learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD) and effective intervention strategies.
• Experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
• Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with learning disabilities.
• Provide direct instruction and support using evidence-based strategies for specific learning difficulties.
• Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
• Collaborate effectively with parents, classroom teachers, psychologists, and other support staff.
• Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of student performance and progress.
• Stay current with research and best practices in special education and learning disabilities.
• Facilitate peer support and social skill development among students.
• Contribute to the overall development of the learning support program in Randburg.
