Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Hygiene Standards Coordinator to support operations in Port Elizabeth. The role combines on-site hygiene inspections with remote coordination, contributing to safe and compliant facilities across the Eastern Cape.

You will drive corrective actions, maintain records, and develop training materials while liaising with facility teams. This contract-based position offers potential extension based on performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in hygiene, sanitation, quality control, or facilities management.
• Strong understanding of hygiene principles and best practices.
• Excellent observational and detail-oriented skills.
• Strong written and verbal reporting and coordination.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
• Hybrid work capability: on-site Port Elizabeth and remote admin.
• Own reliable transport for site visits in the Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections of hygiene and sanitation at multiple locations.
• Develop and maintain hygiene checklists and reporting templates.
• Document findings, identify non-compliance, and recommend actions.
• Coordinate with facility management and cleaning staff.
• Monitor progress of corrective actions and re-assess.
• Assist in hygiene awareness training materials.
• Stay updated on hygiene standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain records of assessments and communications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of hygiene policies.
• Support ad-hoc hygiene tasks for the team.
