Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Chief Hygiene and Sanitation Officer to oversee sanitation operations across Port Elizabeth facilities and surrounding areas. The role sets strategic hygiene standards, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives innovative practices for world-class cleanliness and safety.

The successful candidate will lead a team, manage audits and budgets, and collaborate with operations and management to integrate hygiene into daily activities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Environmental Health, Public Health, Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive hygiene and sanitation management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
• Deep knowledge of hygiene principles, HACCP, GMP, food safety regulations, and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive hygiene and sanitation strategies for all facilities in Port Elizabeth.
• Lead and manage a team of hygiene supervisors and staff, with training and performance management.
• Ensure adherence to local, national, and international health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
