Placements24 is seeking a skilled Subsurface Geoscientist to join our client in Kimberley, South Africa. You will integrate geological, geophysical, and engineering data to interpret subsurface conditions and build geological models for hydrocarbon exploration.

The role offers a hybrid work pattern, collaboration with office colleagues, and a focus on reservoir analysis, basin studies, and reports to support field development planning.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related geoscience discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in subsurface evaluation and exploration.
• Proficiency in geological and geophysical interpretation software (Petrel, Kingdom).
• Strong understanding of structural geology, sedimentology, and petroleum systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret geological and geophysical data, including seismic, well logs, and core data.
• Construct and validate 3D subsurface models to understand reservoir architecture and properties.
• Identify and evaluate exploration opportunities and development prospects.
• Perform basin analysis and play fairway mapping.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and production teams to support field development planning.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations on subsurface evaluations.
