Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Reservoir Geologist to advance subsurface characterization for oil and gas projects in Upington. This hybrid role combines remote data analysis with on-site geological assessments to build robust reservoir models and optimize field development.

You will integrate geological, geophysical and engineering data, perform core analysis, and collaborate with geophysicists on seismic interpretation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology or related Earth Science.
• Minimum of 7 years of reservoir geology experience.
• Proficiency with geological modeling software (Petrel, GeoX).
• Strong sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology knowledge.
• Hybrid work experience with travel to sites.
• Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed reservoir models by integrating geological, geophysical, and engineering data.
• Perform core analysis and petrophysical evaluations of reservoir properties.
• Identify geological controls on reservoir quality and fluid distribution.
• Collaborate with geophysicists on seismic interpretation and attribute analysis.
• Contribute geological input to field development planning and production optimization.
• Prepare and present geological reports and recommendations to teams.
