Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Process Chemist for our client in Pietermaritzburg. The role blends on-site lab work with process observation and occasional remote collaboration in a hybrid setup.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical Engineering with 7+ years in process chemistry or petrochemicals, and strong skills in Aspen Plus or HYSYS. You will design and optimize processes, document procedures, and ensure safety compliance.

Competenze

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in process chemistry or chemical engineering, with a focus on petrochemicals.
Demonstrated expertise in process design, simulation, and optimization software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Knowledge of reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and mass transfer principles; PSM/HAZOP awareness.

Mansioni

Design, implement, and optimize chemical processes to enhance yield, purity, and cost-effectiveness.
Conduct rigorous experimental testing and analysis to validate process parameters and identify improvements.
Develop and maintain detailed process documentation including P&IDs and safety procedures.
Troubleshoot process issues to minimize downtime and maintain production quality.
Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality control to ensure seamless process integration.
Monitor and analyze process data using statistical tools to identify trends and risks.
Stay updated on advancements in chemical engineering and process technology in the petrochemical sector.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
