Placements24 in Vereeniging is seeking an experienced Senior Flight Operations Officer to oversee flight scheduling, crew rostering, and regulatory compliance from the Vereeniging base.

This hybrid role combines on-site coordination with remote planning, requiring aviation regulatory knowledge, strong planning skills, and the ability to manage complex operations and lead junior staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in flight operations, preferably in an airline environment.
• Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and flight planning software.
• Experience with crew scheduling and rostering systems.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills; ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with diverse teams.

Responsabilités

• Develop and manage complex flight schedules and operational plans.
• Oversee crew rostering to ensure duty time compliance.
• Monitor real-time flight operations and adjust for efficiency and safety.
• Ensure flights comply with ICAO, CAA, and local regulations.
• Coordinate with maintenance, dispatch and safety teams.
• Manage operational communications with crews, ground staff and stakeholders.
• Develop SOPs for flight operations.
• Analyze data to identify improvements and cost savings.
• Handle irregular operations (IROPS) including weather disruptions.
• Train and mentor junior flight operations personnel.
