Placements24 in Gauteng is seeking a Process Safety Engineer for our Oil & Gas client in Tembisa, offering hybrid work. The role focuses on developing and managing process safety programs, performing risk assessments, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will drive MOC, incident investigations, PSI maintenance, training, and safety culture, collaborating with regulators and facilities to uphold top safety standards.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in process safety engineering, preferably within Oil & Gas.
• Strong knowledge of PSM principles and standards (OSHA PSM, NFPA, API).
• Experience with risk assessment methods (HAZOP, What-If, LOPA).
• Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive process safety management (PSM) programs.
• Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA, PHA).
• Investigate process safety incidents, near misses, and deviations to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with national and international process safety regulations and standards.
• Develop and deliver process safety training to relevant personnel.
• Oversee the management of change (MOC) process for safety-critical modifications.
• Participate in safety audits and inspections of facilities and equipment.
• Maintain process safety information (PSI) and ensure its accuracy and availability.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and provide technical support during inspections.
• Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
