Placements24 seeks a Process Design Engineer to join their industrial operations team in Richards Bay. The role focuses on optimizing chemical and industrial processes, with responsibilities including conceptual design, process simulation, and scale-up activities for major KwaZulu-Natal projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, experience in process safety, and fluency with simulation tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of industrial process design experience.
• Experience with process safety methodologies such as HAZOP.
• Proficiency with process simulation software.

Responsibilities

• Develop PFDs and P&IDs for process designs.
• Conduct process simulations to optimize parameters.
• Design and specify equipment like reactors and heat exchangers.
• Perform PHAs and implement safety measures.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate new processes.
• Troubleshoot issues to improve yield and product quality.
