Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Payroll Accountant to manage the full payroll cycle for all employees in Paarl, ensuring accurate salaries, benefits, and deductions. The role supports HR and finance, maintaining data integrity and confidentiality in a hybrid work environment.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Accounting/Finance, at least 3 years of payroll processing experience, and strong knowledge of South African payroll regulations, tax laws and HRIS/payroll software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant payroll certifications are a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and accounting.
• Proficiency with payroll software and HRIS systems.
• Strong understanding of South African payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor legislation.
• Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially and work effectively in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage the entire payroll cycle for all employees accurately and on time.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll tax laws, statutory deductions, and labor regulations.
• Perform payroll reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
• Generate payroll reports for management, finance, and HR departments.
• Liaise with external payroll providers, auditors, and tax authorities as needed.
