Placements24 is seeking a meticulous and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team remotely in Gauteng. You will manage the payroll cycle from input to disbursement, ensuring compliance with South African tax laws and labour regulations while serving as the main point of contact for employee payroll queries.

This fully remote role offers flexibility, ongoing training, and the opportunity to work with a collaborative virtual team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and administration.
• Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., VIP, Sage Payroll) and HRIS systems.
• Strong understanding of South African payroll regulations, tax laws, and UIF/SDL requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and efficiently on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, ensuring compliance with tax laws and company policies.
• Manage employee payroll data, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation or benefits.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and relevant departments.
• Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and benefits promptly and professionally.
• Ensure accurate calculation and remittance of payroll taxes and other statutory deductions.
• Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
