Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the automotive components division in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will design and refine a range of automotive parts, ensuring performance, safety, and regulatory standards are met, and collaborate with a dedicated engineering team.

With a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of design experience, you will use SolidWorks or Inventor to create robust components, perform design reviews, and support manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in automotive.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Inventor with ability to create detailed drawings.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical automotive components, meeting timelines and specifications.
• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
• Conduct design reviews, tolerance studies, and stress analyses for robustness.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective for mass production.
• Investigate and resolve design issues during prototyping and testing.
• Stay updated with trends in automotive design and manufacturing.
