Placements24 is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep and efficiency of industrial machinery in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. The role combines on-site leadership with remote planning, requiring hands-on supervision of maintenance teams and strategic programme development.

You will manage preventative and corrective maintenance, control budgets, ensure safety compliance, and drive continuous improvement across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Maintenance Manager or senior maintenance role in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with CMMS.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Budget management and cost control knowledge.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage the maintenance strategy for industrial machinery.
• Lead, train and supervise a team of maintenance technicians and engineers.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs to minimise downtime.
• Manage corrective maintenance activities and repairs.
• Develop and manage the maintenance budget and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment history and spares inventory.
• Collaborate with production and engineering to address equipment issues.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency.
• Oversee procurement and management of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
