Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Instrumentation and Control Technician to join our technical team in Sandton. You will install, calibrate, maintain and repair process instruments, read P&IDs, and support plant start-ups and shutdowns.

The role requires a technical qualification in Instrumentation and Control, 4+ years of experience, and strong skills with DCS/PLC systems, calibration procedures, and diagnostics. A rewarding environment with training opportunities and benefits awaits.

Qualifications

Technical qualification in Instrumentation and Control is required.
Strong troubleshooting skills and problem-solving ability.
Experience with DCS/PLC and calibration procedures.

Responsibilities

Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair process instruments (transmitters, valves, sensors).
Troubleshoot and diagnose control systems and instrumentation (DCS/PLC).
Perform preventive maintenance to ensure reliability of instrumentation and control equipment.
Read P&IDs, loop diagrams, and manuals for troubleshooting and installation.
Ensure work complies with safety regulations and policies.
Support plant start-ups, shutdowns, and turnarounds related to instrumentation and control.
