Job summary

Placements24 invites an experienced Senior Instrumentation Engineer to join our Randburg team, blending office collaboration with remote flexibility in a hybrid role. You will lead design, specification, and implementation of instrumentation and control systems for complex industrial processes, ensuring accuracy, reliability and safety.

You will mentor junior staff and oversee P&ID development, sensor and transmitter selection, and system integration, while ensuring compliance with industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in instrumentation and control engineering.
• Strong knowledge of process instrumentation, DCS, and PLC systems.
• Experience with hazardous area classifications and intrinsic safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify instrumentation, control valves, and related equipment for industrial applications.
• Develop P&IDs, cause and effect matrices, and instrument datasheets.
• Select sensors, transmitters, and control systems for optimal process performance.
• Oversee installation, calibration, and commissioning of instrumentation systems.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting instrumentation and control issues.
• Ensure designs and installations comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
