Placements24 is seeking an experienced HSE Officer for our client in Vereeniging, Gauteng, with a hybrid work setup balancing on-site and remote administration. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE policies to ensure safety across operations and environmental protection.

The candidate should have 4+ years in HSE, a degree or diploma in OHS or related fields, and certifications such as NEBOSH or SAMTRAC, with strong communication and regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Degree/diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Relevant HSE certifications such as NEBOSH or SAMTRAC.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain HSE management systems.
• Conduct site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards.
• Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Deliver HSE training programs to staff and contractors.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with national and international HSE regulations.
• Promote a positive safety culture across the organization.
• Manage emergency response plans and procedures.
• Prepare HSE reports for management and regulators.
• Liaise with external stakeholders on HSE matters.
