Placements24 is seeking a Hybrid Fundraising Specialist for a leading environmental charity in George, Western Cape. The role blends remote work with in-person donor meetings, and focuses on developing innovative fundraising strategies to support conservation projects.

You will manage donor relations, write grant proposals, and lead campaigns, with 3–5 years' non-profit fundraising experience. A Bachelor's in Marketing, Communications or Non-profit Management is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans and campaigns to meet annual revenue targets.
• Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Write compelling grant proposals and reports for various funding bodies.
• Manage and steward existing donor relationships, ensuring consistent engagement and retention.
• Organize and manage fundraising events, both virtual and in-person.
• Maintain accurate donor database records and track fundraising progress.
• Collaborate with the communications team to develop fundraising materials and marketing collateral.
• Research potential funding opportunities and stay informed about trends in philanthropy.
• Prepare financial reports and projections related to fundraising activities.
• Assist in the development and management of the annual fundraising budget.

Requirements

• Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in fundraising, development, or a related role within the non-profit sector.
• Demonstrated success in cultivating and soliciting major gifts and securing grants.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong proposal and report writing abilities.
• Proficiency in donor management software (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce) and MS Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of fundraising principles and best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a hybrid team, managing time effectively.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Marketing, Communications, Business, or Non-profit Management.
• Experience in the environmental or conservation sector is a strong asset.
• Strong networking and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within the Western Cape as required for donor meetings and events.
