Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a client in the Sandton area to hire a Lead Fintech Project Manager. The role focuses on delivering technology initiatives within the Financial Services division, coordinating with IT, business analysts, and compliance to implement secure financial platforms.

You will drive project plans, manage risks, ensure regulatory compliance (POPIA, FICA), and lead cross-functional teams through Agile or Waterfall lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in project management within financial services.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations (e.g., POPIA, FICA, Basel III).
• Experience managing projects involving core banking systems, trading platforms, or fintech solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects in financial services.
• Develop comprehensive project plans with scope, timelines, budgets, and risk management.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, BAs, and compliance to ensure alignment.
• Oversee implementation of new financial software, upgrades, and infra projects.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and data security standards.
• Monitor progress and communicate updates to senior management.
