Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer in Benoni to spearhead FinTech development. You will design, develop, and deploy high-performance fintech solutions while mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence.

This hybrid role balances in-office collaboration in Gauteng with remote flexibility. You will lead architecture, guide a team, and work with product teams to shape roadmaps, ensuring robust testing and scalable microservices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience focusing on backend systems and APIs.
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing software development projects.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or C#, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Expertise in designing and implementing microservices architectures and distributed systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and architecture of scalable, high-performance FinTech applications.
• Mentor and guide a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define product roadmaps and technical specifications.
• Implement robust testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Oversee code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, and promote best practices in software development.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.
