Placements24 in George, Western Cape, seeks an experienced Financial Manager to oversee the company’s accounting operations and financial reporting. This hybrid role combines in-office collaboration with remote flexibility to balance teamwork and autonomy.

You will lead a team, manage month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and ensure IFRS/GAAP compliance while supporting strategic decision-making and long-term financial health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional certification (CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA) desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years progressive experience in accounting or financial management.
• Experience in managing accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
• Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including AP, AR, GL, payroll, and revenue recognition.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes for timely financial statements.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans with senior management.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Ensure IFRS/GAAP compliance and tax regulations.
• Develop internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial information.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team.
• Prepare financial reports for management, board, and external auditors.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements.
