Placements24 is seeking an experienced Energy Trader to join our trading desk in Benoni, Gauteng. You will trade electricity, natural gas, and related derivatives, analyze market trends, manage risk, and execute trades to optimize the portfolio.

This hybrid role requires regular in-office presence for critical market monitoring, with remote work possible during certain periods. A proven track record in commodity trading and strong analytical skills are essential.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Finance, Economics, Math, Engineering) required or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in energy commodity trading with exposure to physical and financial markets.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing profitable trading strategies.

Responsabilidades

• Execute trading strategies for electricity, natural gas, and other energy commodities.
• Analyze market data, news, and forecasts to identify profitable opportunities.
• Monitor and manage trading positions and risks, ensuring adherence to risk limits.
• Develop and implement short-term and long-term trading strategies to maximize portfolio value.
• Maintain strong relationships with brokers, counterparties, and market participants.
• Collaborate with risk management, quantitative analysis, and commercial teams.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly trading reports for senior management.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and market dynamics impacting energy markets.
• Utilize trading platforms and analytical tools to support decision-making.
• Contribute to development of new trading products and strategies.
